Like with all addictions it's impossible to know when to stop and bolt action is no different. Inspired by a deadly combination of Antony Beevor's Arnhem: The battle for the bridges, 1944 and the 1977 war-epic A bridge too far I have decide to start a third bolt action army - British Airborne.
So far this venture has begun with only a single purchase of the Warlord games British Airborne box and the Market Garden Campaign book. I am planning to make a small veteran force to represent the 1st Airborne Division from Operation Market Garden (and maybe can double up as the 6th Airborne from D-days Pegasus bridge).
The beginnings of the army |
For colour scheme I have decided to follow Sonic Sledgehammer Studio's How I Paint Things - British Denison Smocks guide (Link).
To start the army off here is the 2nd Lt and man armed with Sten guns.
They were a treat to paint and very keen for putting together this new army.
Signing off,
Chewie
